British Wild Plants For much of my life I have taken wild flowers and plants for granted without knowing many names, just glad to see familiar faces as the seasons change. My step-by-step journey from birding, through photography to wildlife, has inevitably led me to the flora that provide yet another link in the chain, either directly as host plants for egg-laying insects, as food plants, as sources of nectar and therefore a means of pollination, or as shelter from predators or weather. I will never stop
learning and, as always, have well-used Field Guides to assist
identification. Interestingly a big challenge in ID is determining colour. One person's blue is another person's purple. Nothing like some lively debate!
